Tucson's Pediatric Emergency Room
Just for kids when it matters most
The TMC pediatric emergency room in Tucson treats babies, children, and teens with serious illnesses or injuries. We are open 24 hours a day, every day. The department is staffed by specialized providers trained in children's emergency medicine. Our children’s medical center ER in Tucson also has access to pediatric specialists and all the services of TMC for Children.
Children are assessed by an experienced pediatric emergency nurse within minutes of arrival and continuous effort is made to make you wait as little as possible from beginning to end. The staff at our Tucson pediatric emergency room will treat, stabilize and discharge children with lesser illnesses or injuries who can be cared for at home. This allows the sickest kids to be cared for and admitted to TMC for Children if needed.
With 14 beds and child-sized equipment, parents can rest easy knowing that the whole pediatric emergency team is ready and waiting to care for their child's every need. No matter where you live in Southern Arizona, our Tucson pediatric emergency room is the best choice when it matters most!

In 2018, the Pediatric Emergency Department relocated to TMC for Children. Having most of our pediatric resources in one place allows for better teamwork and more collaboration among all the pediatric physicians and staff of our children’s medical center ER in Tucson.
